St. Patrick's Day with the Scannells

Since Patrick's birthday is soo close to the holiday, why not all dress in green and eat carrot cake for breakfast in bed? Grab a fork and dig in! Mackenzie, Becca, Sloane, Vince and Katie - ready to suprise Patrick.

Anni looked cute, so she kept the wig on all day. Dave switched to a hat.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to All!

DJ turns 16!

Hi All!
Yes, DJ is 16!
Thursday night was a fun evening, with Susan home on break and Richard and Ellen sharing in the celebration.
Please note, that DJ once again was victorious in his ping pong matches with Ellen.
Here are a few pix.
Note the his birthday cake was decorated with the Oscar the Grouch and balloons from his childhood birthday cakes. (the rest of the Muppets characters have faded away with age!)

Grammy's Birthday Weekend

Mom brought up "Memory Boxes" containing LOTS of blasts from the past - including my favorite dress of all time. Looks like Katie felt as pretty in it as I used to.

Anni and Vince checking on the "Pork Explosion." What is a "pork explosion?" Well you weave thick cut bacon into a mat. Season it. Wrap it around a log of sausage that has been filled with cooked bacon and bbq sauce, slow cook it slathered with more BBQ sauce then ENJOY!

Vince zooming down the hill.

Grammy's birthday feast. Yea, after eating the explosion on Friday, we still wanted sausage on Saturday. All that time in the snow makes you hungry!

The girls tried on some of out old favorite dresses. Becca is wearing one of Anni's favorites.

Ice Fishing in Maine

We went to Maine with the Ross family for a long weekend of ice fishing and family fun. Dave caught 3 fish. Katie had fun, but caught no fish.

Becca LOVED trying, and went out several times, but no luck.

Cabin fever sets in quicker on the ice, as Dave wrestles Jasmine for a stick.

And I have no idea what was in that bucket, but it freaked out these seasoned ice-fisher-kids and sent them running in opposite directions! (No, Katie didn't step in her Uncle Kevin's ice fishing hole, although it sure looks like she will from this pic.)

Close the Distance

I've updated ClosetheDistance with an audio clip and some pix from Ocala.

Inauguration Day

The kids cheered through the inauguration. Vince liked the helicopter the best. FASB is making a run for "First Dog."

We baked red and blue star cookies - and of course the girls wore party hats.

Every party needs decorations. They colored these and hung them in the kitchen for our party.
