Saturday evening, the Finnegans, Tim, and the 4 Livermores attended a performance of the Capital Steps.
Their website description is:"Music and political satire by The Capitol Steps, the Washington-based troupe of Congressional staffers turned songwriters. We put the MOCK in Democracy... The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them."
They truly are non-descriminatory as to party - Republicans and Democrats are equally satirized.
It was great evening, consisting of a great deal of laughter - especially during their final number "Lirty Dies" -
If you are interested in learning more or if you need a good laugh... check out their website: http://www.capsteps.com/
Love you all!

Whatsup!
I just wanted to say I had a blast at Kenyon. (see post below). My favorite part of the weekend was the faculty meet & greet. While Susan's professors sang her praises to Judy, I scored big at the complimentary buffet. With Judy's encouragement I did my level best to eat $49K worth of cheese, crackers, and desserts.
The weather was nippy. Actually, we froze, which was really humbling considering I was taunting Richard 3 days earlier when he took off for a road trip with George, driving from Phx to Rapid City. Turns out it was in the 70's all the way up to SD. Shirtsleeves. Go figure. They went to S.D. because George got a federal job with Bureau of Reclamation. I think its a dam good job. LOL.
Also - wanted to show you Kate's latest promotion. Get this kid an agent!

Weekend in Ohio
Hi Everyone,
This weekend we flew out to visit Susan.
We had a terrific time catching up, meeting Susan's friends, Professors, and most importantly getting to know her roommate/friend Kaitlin. Totally floored by their dorm room... in an older building on campus, huge with bay windows overlooking the Quad....not bad for being one of the last set to get housing!
We attended a choral concert, and a terrific play (Susan's friend STOLE the show), did some speed shopping in Columbus, and enjoyed the delicious campus fare.
Saturday evening we went out to dinner with Kaitlin and her family. We enjoyed getting to know one another and realized that we had a great deal in common: both Mom's are Occupational Therapists; her Mom and Dad both studied and worked in Boston; Kaitlyn's brother Justin in a Junior in H.S.; and both families LOVE dogs and animals.
Terrific weekend....

DiPalma girls go to Lilja School!
Katie's back to school picture. There must be some accellerated growth process that happens in September, because she has grown up so much!
The traditional first day of school picture - with the family looking on. Love the headband.
Becca (correction - Rebecca the Kindergartener) lining up with her class on the first day of school. I think she is ready, don't you?
The first day the kindergartners ride the bus is actually the 3rd day of school. Those huge backpacks make them look so small.

Susan and Judy's Roadtrip
Hi Everyone,
Susan and I just completed a 1400 mile Roadtrip in 4 days.
Our final destination was Kenyon College in Gambier Ohio. Susan will be working there for 5 weeks as an RA for their Young Writers Program.
We took the opportunity to make it into a roadtrip and hit some fun stops along the way.
We left Tuesday evening and immediately went to The Dr. Seuss Memorial Sculpture Garden in Springfield MA. We really enjoyed the Yertle the Turtle and Max statues.
We proceeded to New Rochelle NY to spend the night at my friend Susie Silberberg's home. Susan was actually named after her! We enjoyed a wonderful evening with Susika, her daughters and wonderful Mom, Vera!
After a too brief visit we headed off Wed AM to Sleepy Hollow NY to the Headless Horseman's bridge - very cool!
Next stop: Bethel NY and the site of WOODSTOCK. It is the 40th Anniversary this year. Very cool museum and gorgeous grounds.
Our next stop was SUNY Binghamton. Advantageously, my sister in law Lee, niece Alena and DJ were driving up to see my nephew Max (a SUNY Senior) and start DJ's college tour! We had a great dinner, drank wine, had a good night's sleep and toured the beautiful campus the next morning.
Susan and I then headed for Niagra Falls and Toronto. Yes, we got very wet, but ended up happy and ensconced in the China Town section of Toronto Thursday evening.
Friday, we were lucky to be directed to the CN Tower. The tallest free standing building in the World. We then began our final leg to Ohio - but not before getting lost in Toronto.
Finally, we made it Gambier - and enjoyed a relaxing evening, with wine and movies.
Saturday we finished up with some shopping in Columbus, and I flew home.
Susan and I will meet up on August 5th at the Silberberg's again - this time to see HAIR on Broadway for her 19th birthday.
Great trip, and great memories.

I totally love it that Amanda has an iphone!!! I get pictures of ordinary events in my email. It's always a surprise and it always makes me smile. Here's two that I've gotten recently. Ani at the hair dresser showing off her new 'do' and Greyson taking an impromptu nap.

Livermore Family Update
Hi Everyone,
Lots happening at the Livermore Home.
First: Don's parents have both (sometimes simultaneously) experienced a number a medical problems over the past 4 months. Don's Mom (Taimi) has moved to a skilled nursing center here in Wilmington. Don's Dad ('Donald B.') has joined us at March Road. He will be living with us until construction on a new Asst Living (on the grounds of the nursing center that Taimi is living) is complete in mid July.
Second: DJ has moved into new digs downstairs - tripling his living space. He is now occupying 'the condo'.
Third: Don took an early retirement from GE. His last day was March 31st. He is NOT retired, just regrouping. He will be looking for something new in the coming months. But right now his fulltime job is helping with his parent's transition, and all that goes with it.
Fourth: Judy has a new job! I left my position at Woburn Nursing Center after a long run. I will be starting a new job in the next two weeks. I have a few weeks off. We will be spending a great deal of time in Lynn cleaning out Don's parent's home to prepare for sale.
Fifth: DJ got his learner's permit! Most importantly - his permit has a terrific picture!
Sixth: Not to leave out Susannah: She is finishing up the year, and heading home for about 6 weeks before heading back to work on campus for 5 weeks.
That is all the news that is fit to print!
