Relay for life web tips

A couple of tips on how to link to your personal fund raising page:

1. Create a hyperlink to your own page
The easiest way is to take the url from your personal page, for example, Dee's is:

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RelayForLifeNewEnglandDivision?pg=personal&fr_id=7528&JServSessionIdr007=gfmc49tbt2.app312a&fr_id=7528&px=6215796

Open up a word document and type in the text you want, like Dee's Personal Page. Then highlight the text, right click, and choose hyperlink. In the address box, paste the url. I've done it here for you: Dee’s Personal Page

2. Create a simplified url to your page that looks nicer printed out:
Its like an alias. Your old url still works too. To create a simplified url, log in to your page, click participant center, and then over on the far right under the $ goal there is a link that says "update personal urls".
I chose efinnegan, so the alias url that I have is: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/efinnegan.
I also created a simplified team url: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/fpConnection

We created a modified paper donation sheet for people that want to use snail mail and included the simplified url. I'll see if there's a way to upload it to this site. Otherwise, I'll email it out to you.

Senior Prom

Hi Everyone,

Friday night was Susan's Senior Prom.
She chose to wear Mom's 55 year old wedding dress.
All was going smoothly, til the dress decided to show it's age. LUCKILY for all of us: Pat to the rescue....it is very LUCKY for us that she is used to taping prom dresses together. Once again Pat, I kneel before your greatness and creativity. YOU saved the NIGHT!
Susan had a terrific time, and the dress lived to see another special event!

Fund raising off to an early start

Check out the home page for the Relay For Life® of Salem 2008.
http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=7528.
Apparently, the Flaherty-Pomarole Connection is top dog in Southern New Hampshire.

Here's our team url: Click here to view the team page for Flaherty-Pomarole Connection

or paste this into your browser:

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RelayForLifeNewEnglandDivision?team_id=267164&pg=team&fr_id=7528&et=YGZE6RDqpzdWEgDsThxnHQ..&s_tafId=113276

I've been playing around a little bit with personalizing web pages. I haven't figured out how to get multiple photos, slideshows or photo albums loaded yet, but I sent an email to the web gurus at Relay for Life and hope to hear back from them soon.
In the meantime, if you want to simplify your web link url, there's a way to do that. For example, my url is:
http://main.acsevents.org/goto/efinnegan

You can do this by going to your Participant Center page, Selecting a link on the left hand side called "Update personal url's" and choosing a name that hasn't already been taken. Email me (ellenmfinnegan@aol.com) if you need help.

HELLO WORLD!

Here Anni is in the morning before she went in for her C-Section so this is as big as she will get with this one...and thank goodness; we were all afraid she might just pop last night!

And here she is after - no wonder she was so big - he weighs 9 pounds and 4 ounces and is 21 inches long....a jolly big fellow he is!

Meet Mark Matthew Mermelstein - he is already "talking" so it looks like he will be taking after his namesakes...we should watch out for practical jokes next...

...and here is where he takes after his Daddy. These toes are so long he could hold onto tree branches with them! :)

Montserrat College of Art's trip to Mali, Africa immerses students in Malian culture. For three years students have spent their Winter break studying the diverse art of more than five Malian tribes. “Art du Mali: Montserrat in Africa”, curated by Jacqueline Sorensen, exhibits work from and inspired by Mali. Come witness the strength and beauty of Malian people in the face of devastating poverty. The rich traditions that hold the Malian community together are alive in their art. Donations of basic art and school supplies will be collected at the gallery throughout the duration of the show for the Dogon people. Our Dogon guide, Moise Sagara, will hand deliver them

Okay, I forgot to turn the camera and the lense cap swings into view, but she freaks me out a little bit going down such a BIG and FAST slide.
