Hello again. Hello. I got the phone call from Judy this evening to check out Newsweek magazine. It seems that the guy the Library of Congress has named the country's first children's literature laureate this month has put together a list titled My Five Most Important Books. Hold on to your hat....
Go, Dog. Go! tops the list!! I'm pretty excited about this because it basically validates my idea of the perfect America novel. BTW:Richard tells me that Sean was doing book reports on this story all the way up until middle school.
Here's a link to the article: http://www.newsweek.com/id/91684.

Ellen,
This just validates you as the Children's Book Laureate of the Pomarole-Flaherty Family!
DJ still has the copy that you gave him - it sits proudly on his shelf!
The Library of Congress Laureate did not include "Antarctic Antics" though...you are one up on him!
We think it is one of the best books ever written! Nice to see it is getting much deserved praise!
